<p>We are getting ready to roll out an upgrade to the system that will allow you to assign multiple users to a single contact.&nbsp; This will add another level to the users/groups.&nbsp; All groups will be assigned an admin defined Role.&nbsp; Therefore all users will be associated with the role that is assigned to the group to which they belong.</p>
<h3>The Benefit of Roles</h3>
<p>The main idea behind roles is to make it possible to assign more than one user to any given contact.&nbsp; For instance, lets say you have group A, group B, and Group C.&nbsp; Group A is assigned the role of &quot;managers&quot;,&nbsp; Group B is assigned the role of &quot;Sales Rep&quot;, and Group C is assigned the role of &quot;Customer Service&quot;.&nbsp; The actual names of the roles are definable, they could be called &quot;Whosey-Whatses&quot;, &quot;Flans&quot; , and &quot;Doo-hickeys&quot; if that&#8217;s what you want.&nbsp; Therefore a single lead can have a manager, a sales rep, and a customer service person all assigned to it.&nbsp;</p>
<p>In this same hypothetical situation lets say the customer service people and the sales reps are only able to see leads assigned to themselves.&nbsp; If a contact has a sales rep user assigned to it and has a customer service person they will both be able to see that contact.</p>
<p>Add adds another dimension to the filters, thereby improving the way you can refine your contact list and/or perform actions.&nbsp; You will be able to filter by role as well as group and user.</p>
<h3>Roles Long-Term</h3>
<p>This upgrade sets the foundation for a series of upgrade requests that we have received from our clients. Most popular among these is the ability to create a commission structure.&nbsp; We have run into scenarios where leads go through different departments, so a lead may get reassigned to another user after the sale is made.&nbsp; They still want to know who actually closed the sale so they can handle commission payouts and know ultimately who is credited for the won sale. &nbsp;</p>
<p>Implementing a commission and payout structure, it opens it up for us to add functionality to manage contacts in an MLM business model.&nbsp; MLM companies can manage and deliver sales leads to their down-line, and manage their entire down-line and payouts.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div id="post_message_177">To improve the reliability and performance of the AIMpromote database we have migrated from the non-transactional <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MyISAM" target="_blank">MyISAM</a> storage engine to the more reliable <a href="http://www.innodb.com/" target="_blank">InnoDB</a> database storage engine. There have been some brief periods of unavailability during the migration process, and we expect that there will be a few more minutes of unexpected downtime over the next week or two.</p>
<p>There are significant advantages to using the InnoDB storage engine, which is why we have partnered with InnoBase to bring this to production. AIMpromote clients should already be experiencing a significant improvement in speed (up to 50% decrease in page load). Also, from a reliability standpoint, we are able to offer a platform that has unparalleled data consistency.</p>
